FSSPX: El acuerdo con Roma. ¿Suicidio o esperanza?

In the last days the rumor has arisen, which, as far as we can tell, has a high degree of verisimilitude, that the Pius X Fraternity would have already acquired or would be in Rome the seat of the future personal prelature which See in the photograph, for which the Vatican itself would have mediated through the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei.
Whether or not this acquisition is finally confirmed, what seems to be undoubtedly is that there is a great expectation before what seems a close agreement that would suppose a powerful news in the whole ecclesial world.

Personally, I have great hope and enthusiasm for this to happen. I had the honor and the privilege of being able to meet Monsignor Lefebvre in person in 1989 at Econe, and he left me an indelible impression. I believe that the granting of the personal prelature would be an act of justice towards his person and his work, as Monsignor Schneider also pointed out recently, who said he was convinced that the work that Monsignor Lefebvre founded was part of the Plan of the Providence to safeguard the Faith.

Of course it is not a dogma of faith nor necessary to have to be totally in agreement with everything he did or said, and as in every human work there will have been his successes and failures (more of the first than of the second in my opinion ), But I believe that the great majority of those who move in "traditional" environments agree to have a deep respect for their figure and therefore an eagerness to be officially rehabilitated with this recognition of justice and law.

There is a continuous succession of more and more brilliant analyzes for and against this possible agreement, contemplating multiple points of view: canonical, prudential, strategic, but often the one that is most important to me is forgotten, the argument of Salvation of souls, that of the faithful.

There is no point in reopening expired debates, but we must grant that the faithful, the simple faithful on foot who have never had contact with traditionalism, would be the great beneficiaries of this operation. They do not have to be specialists in canon law nor have knowledge to determine what is the state of necessity, whether suspensions to divinis are valid or not and all that canonical question that accompanies the SSPX, in whose debate I do not intend to enter here And that I think it is absurd to even rethink in this historical moment.

I think it is not worthwhile to argue that the SSPX would have an IMMEDIATE entry of many faithful and priests that gives them a certain resentment of their "irregular" canonical situation, and this would entail as an immediate effect that MANY more people will have the possibility to access the Sacraments and sound doctrine, thus saving more souls than if it were still reduced to the group of habitual faithful. I think of how many poor diocesan priests there are who live martyred by their bishops and who could be integrated into the prelature.

If we see it from a purely human point of view it is indisputable that it might seem a suicide, but if we see it from a supernatural plane it would have to have that value that has the warrior who throws himself to the battlefield without knowing without dying or not, but Trusting their commander to guide them to victory. The Fraternity San Pedro, which was predicted to be destroyed shortly, has been in jail for 25 years, and without bishops, which is a detail to take into account.

Much is being argued that there is fear that this agreement will silence the FSSPX, as indeed it actually happens with other regularized groups. I, in truth, I am not afraid of that because the repercusion would be little. Twenty-five years ago, when there was no internet, the SSPX represented almost the only organization that had the structural and economic power to spread ideas through books, audios, conferences. Today all this has become completely relativized thanks to the internet, and I think that for years now the real critical weight is not carried by the FSSPX or absolutely anyone similar or orbit, but the websites of lay people many of them with the help of Priests individually.

It is a moment of unity, a moment of illusion and above all a moment of praying to the Holy Spirit to enlighten us all in this battle.

Francis has brought a great desolation, but - and here are the unfathomable paths of the Lord - is getting to unite many people who are opening their eyes and, forgetting old quarrels, begin to see those whom they considered enemies until recently, as brothers of battle.

Suicide, with the Antipapa Francisco, we put ourselves in the cage of the lions, however beautiful the Roman Headquarters. Today is not half-time with a heretic on the throne of Peter. The truth at this point I am somewhat disappointed.
Today would be the time to criticize, rather than to silence, however good the agreement. You can not make a deal with the devil. I am not a vacant host, nor will I leave the Fraternity if the agreement is signed ... But the truth hurts and I fear for all our priests and for us faithful, that finally we will be without shepherds.
It is true that he opens many priests and religious of goodwill who want to enter the fraternity but there will also be infiltrators who shortly to enter will ask to pray the New Mass or other things and there will come the interventions the problems ... And there are us. I hope this is wrong and God allows this for the good and the purification of the Church. But I have my doubts.
